State Rep. Fred Crespo, D-Hoffman Estates, will host his first pet fair this Sunday.

From 1 to 4 p.m., there will be an opportunity to shop and socialize at High Point Park, near Douglas MacArthur Elementary School in Hoffman Estates.

The event will include a best-dressed pet contest, Frisbee-catching contest and low-cost micro-chipping provided by Golf Rose Animal Hospital. The hospital’s veterinarians also will provide information on rabies prevention, and residents will have an opportunity to register new pets.

Local animal shelters and pet groomers will also be available to offer their services, including adoption opportunities and nail clippings for dogs.
