Salt Creek Ballet opened its 25th Anniversary Season with “Swan Lake, Act II” at the McAninch Arts Center, College of DuPage over the weekend (April 10th &11th). The Sunday performance was attended by Congresswoman Judy Biggert, now an Honorary Board member of Salt Creek Ballet after joining the board as a director in 1990. Ms. Biggert also attended a Sunday pre-performance talk featuring Artistic Director Sergey Kozadayev and hosted by Lucia Mauro, a well respected dance writer, critic and historian.
Thanks to the support of the Community Arts Access Regrant, funded by the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency, and Hinsdale Center for the Arts; and Target, second grade students of Manning School in Westmont were also invited to attend the performance free of charge as part of the Salt Creek Ballet – CUSD201 collaborative arts education program, Literacy through Dance.
