The Hinsdale Village Board approved a three-year extension of a waste collection contract at Tuesday’s village board meeting.
The contract extension is with Allied Waste Services. The new rates will be effective May 1.
The contract calls for residents who have one can a week picked up to pay $24.70 a month in the first year, $25.38 a month in the second year and $26.08 in the third year. Residents who have a 60-gallon toter collected once a week will pay $29.10 in year one, $29.90 in year two and $30.72 in year three. Residents who have a 90-gallon carton collected once a week will pay 29.87 in the first year, $30.69 in the second year and $31.54 in the third year.
Those who have one can collected two times a week will pay $37.47 a week, $38.50 in the second year and $39.56 in the third year. Residents who have 60-gallon toter picked up twice a week will pay $41.74 in year one, $43.62 in year two and $44.88 in year three.
“For people who have once-a-week pick up it’s actually a decrease (in rates),” said Village Manager David Cook.
Stickers for collecting yard waste will be $2.75 in year one, $2.85 in year two, and $2.95 in year three.
