A Countryside man was arrested at Whole Foods in Hinsdale after he allegedly grabbed an employee by the shoulder and applied pressure like a pressure point, Hinsdale police said. The altercation stemmed from an incident at one of the grocery store’s sample bins.
A 66-year-old man, of the 10700 block of Crestview Road, Countryside, was arrested at 12:46 p.m. Monday at Whole Foods, 500 E. Ogden Avenue, and charged with battery after he made physical contact with the 29-year-old woman.
“The Whole Foods employee observed the suspect using his hands to take items out of the sample food bin,” deputy police chief Mark Wodka said. “When she approached him and expressed concern for the sanitation of the food, he made physical contact to her shoulder and applied pressure by squeezing it. He also grabbed her by the shoulder and shook her.”
Wodka reported there was no indication the man was under the influence of any type of alcohol or narcotic.
