It’s every high school student’s worst nightmare — walking down the halls, hand-in-hand with their parents.

But at Hinsdale Central High School, parents are encouraged to shadow their child or children one day a year.

On Wednesday, parents of HCHS students are invited to spend all or part of a regular school day attending their child’s classes.

Central administration said that parents the annual event is hosted each year so parents can benefit by knowing what their student experiences each day.

The school suggests parents sit through the entire duration of class as not to distract the students by leaving early.

There is no parking for parents on-site at the high school, so parents are asked to park on 57th Street between Garfield and Madison Avenues.

For more information, call Hinsdale Central at 630-570-8000.
