Grand Opening of Best Futures Café at Centennial Ice Arena in Highland Park
Best Futures Café, a concession stand providing job opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), is now open at Centennial Ice Arena in Highland Park, on Saturdays and Sundays 8am to 5pm, for the season through the end of April.
Founded by a group of suburban parents in June 2011, Best Futures, Inc. is focused on creating opportunities for sustainable competitive employment in the community for individuals with I/DD. Such opportunities are otherwise very limited.
Visitors can purchase a variety of snacks and beverages, including, pizza, nachos, pretzels, muffins, cookies, candy, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, sports drinks, pop and more from Best Futures Café, which is staffed by individuals with I/DD who are supported by a team of job coaches, volunteers and parent managers.
When visitors make a food or drink purchase, not only do they receive something delicious to enjoy, but they have also played an important role in supporting meaningful job opportunities in the community for individuals with I/DD.
Best Futures Café is pleased to be a new presence in the community and welcomes customers.
