                      Packed House For The Music Theatre Companys
               Star-Studded Holiday Benefit Concert at Gabes Backstage

(Highland Park, Il) Music theatre-lovers recently filled Gabes Backstage in Highwood for The Music Theatre Companys (formerly La Red Music Theatre) A HOLIDAY CONCERT OF NEW WORKS, featuring the talents of current and past main-stage performers. The evenings material also showcased the work of cutting-edge composers artistically associated with The Music Theatre Company, as well as three new works slated for their summer of 2010 season. Proceeds from the concert went to The Music Theatre Company.

The audience enjoyed the talents of company members Alna Watters of Addams Family, Keith Harrison of Million Dollar Quartet, Elana Ernst, recently of Chicago Children’s Theatre’s The Hundred Dresses, Laura Scheinbaum of The Marriott Theatre’s Hairspray, Emily Thompson of The Marriott Theatre’s My Fair Lady, Andrew Keltz of American Theatre Company’s Yeast Nation, Alan Schmuckler, composer of TMTC’s 2009 presentation of Summertime, Michael Mahler, composer of TMTCs production of The 9/11 Report: a Bipartisan Musical Fantasia, Jarrod Zimmerman of Penninsula Players Hollywood/Ukraine, Johanna McKenzie Miller of Marriott Theatres Hairspray and Jeff Award-winner Alex Weisman of The Goodman’s Christmas Carol. The evening will be music directed by Keith Harrison and directed by TMTC Artistic Director Jessica Redish.

When so many people leave their home on a cold winter night to enjoy an evening of musical theatre, it speaks volumes as to the importance of offering quality professional theatre in our own backyard, states Jessica Redish, Founder and Artistic Director of The Music Theatre Company. Our upcoming summer season is jam-packed with exciting new works and we are eager to share them with the North Shore Community.
