Joy Horwich Gallery+2 ‘Pops Up’ In Evanston Storefront February 7-19; Established Artists Sell One-Of-A-Kind Fine Art

EVANSTON – Well known Chicago area art gallerist Joy Horwich and her daughters are hosting a unique “Pop Up Art Show” February 7-19 in a 1,200 square-foot Chicago Avenue storefront in Evanston.

The event will feature for sale one-of-a-kind fine art created by well known Chicago area and out-of-state artists. The public also is invited to a P"art"y Night on Thursday, February 9 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The “Pop Up Art Show” will be held every day from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 1627 Chicago Ave., in Evanston (across from Whole Foods). Admission is free. For more information, please call (847) 881-6026, or email popupartshow@gmail.com.

Horwich of Chicago, and her two daughters, Jill Bernstein of Highland Park, and Penny Keeshin of Deerfield, who comprise Joy Horwich Gallery+2, have arranged for many well-established professional artists - many of them award winning - as well as those who are fresh to her shows, to display their celebrated work.

Among them are Deborah Eppstein and Jack Kraig, Judith Roth, Laurie Rubin, Phillip Feitelberg, Chuck Wickler, Mark McMahon, Gary Weidner, Gretchen Sigmund, Joyce and Steve Rebora, Rebecca Zemans, Eileen Neill, Eric Jensen, Nina Weiss, Ezra Siegel, Didier Nolet, Anna Dibble, Susan Clayton, Jill Specks, Robert T. Knill, John Showalter, Scott Fincher, and Scott Fishman.

“We will be showing a diverse mix of painters, photographers, sculptors, ceramists, and jewelers,” said Horwich. “All their work is colorful, delightful, and finely executed. Everything is for sale.”

This is the third such “Pop Up Art Show” created and run by Horwich, Bernstein, and Keeshin; the first was a one-week event in Highland Park, the second was held one weekend last October at Steinhafels new, 101,000 square foot, state-of-the-art furniture store in Vernon Hills.

Followers of Horwich, who for 25 years operated the Joy Horwich Gallery on Ontario Street in Chicago, are expected to view the elaborate display of art work and jewelry.

The art consultant also is highly regarded for her guided "Joy-us-Jaunts" tours, including day trips and excursions to art events in Chicago, its suburbs, and other cities in the U.S. and around the world.

“This is a nice way to herald both Chicago area and out-of-state artists, most of them well established,” said Horwich.

The “Pop Up Art Show” is a trend which started in London that involves showcasing the work of select artists at a variety of unique venues for a limited amount of time.
