Blotter: Burglary, suspended license and vandalism

The following items were taken from Highland Park Police records on Feb. 16.

Commercial burglary 

  • A burglar stole a Caterpillar Bobcat construction machine from behind a locked gate between Jan. 27 and Jan. 28 in the 1800 block of Old Skokie Road.

Criminal damage to property 

  • A vandal damaged an antique fence and ran over landscape rocks and grass causing damage sometime between 7 p.m. Feb. 10 and 9 a.m. Feb. 11 in the 100 block of Sycamore Place.

Driving while license suspended

  • A 36-year-old Gurnee man, of the 3500 block of Atlantic Avenue, was charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after police arrested him sometime before 1:50 a.m. Feb. 12 in the 2100 block of Skokie Valley Road.
  • A 30-year-old Highwood man, of the of the 200 block of Evolution Avenue, was charged with driving while license suspended, suspended registration, uninsured motor vehicle and texting while driving after police arrested him at about 9:30 a.m. Feb. 10 near the intersection of Half Day and Skokie Valley roads.
  • A 34-year-old Michigan woman was charged with driving while license suspended and expired registration after being stopped by police at about 7:15 p.m. Feb. 10 in the 3300 block of Skokie Valley Road.
