In December, Leslie Pencak opened The Button Room, a museum that’s as much about the world of collecting buttons as it is about the memory of her friend, Elizabeth Hewitt. It’s at 4072 Old Grand Ave. in Gurnee, less than a block away from where Hewittt lived as a child and later as a married woman.
