Antioch’s PM&L Theatre is delighted to bring back, in a full, bonus production, Richard O'Brien's "The Rocky Horror Show", on October 7, 8, 14 and 15, with two performances per night at 8 and 11 pm. See the stage musical that spawned the cult-classic movie in our intimate, 163-seat theatre, home to our acting troupe for over 50 years.
Before the 1975 movie became a worldwide cult phenomenon, there was Richard O'Brien's original 1973 musical "The Rocky Horror Show". While PM&L's production of the show includes all the songs that the movie's followers have come to love, like "Sweet Transvestite", "Science Fiction Double-Feature" and of course "The Time Warp", fans of the film should be aware that the stage musical script contains differences from the movie script. The audience participation lines and props one might use with the movie sometimes do not apply (for example, no dinner scene, and therefore no toast!)
Directed by Donna Abear, the fabulous cast includes actors from both Wisconsin and Illinois. From southeastern Wisconsin: Brandon Ghislain (Frank), Edward Lupella (Brad), Amy-Louise Seyller (Magenta), Ken Scheske (Dr. Scott) and Cat Zimmerman and Rob Vaccarella (Phantoms). From Lake County, Illinois: Jim Behr (Riff Raff), Randi Beyer (Janet), Wes Jones (Rocky), Zack Simonini (Eddie), Philip Jaeger (Criminologist), Megan McGrath (Usherette) and Gary Luz, Jennifer Peterson, Emmy Yates and Kellie Smouse. Finally, Alexa Hojnacki (Columbia) is from Cook County, Illinois and Christen-Dominguez Schacht (Phantom) hails from McHenry, Illinois.
We do encourage audience members to arrive dressed up as their favorite Rocky Horror characters and do the "Time Warp" with us, but we won't be allowing outside objects into the theater for the safety and cleanliness of our theatre. Instead, you may purchase a $5 “audience participation bag” in the lobby prior to the show to enjoy the fun even more!
Tickets are $16 for adults, $13 for students and seniors. Due to the adult nature of this show, we do not recommend the show for children/teens under 16. Box office opens on September 26 and you may purchase tickets in-person or by phone at 847-395-3055 on Monday through Thursdays, 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Saturday from 9:00 am till noon, or 1 ½ hours before the first evening show, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. PM&L Theatre is located at 877 Main Street, Antioch, Illinois.
Performances will be on October 7, 8, 14 and 15. There will be an 8 pm and 11 pm performance each night.
