Man, 77, drowns in retirement community pool

The body of a 77-year-old man was found Sunday evening in a pool at a retirement community in Grayslake, according to authorities.

Donald Parsons, of the 100 block of Enfield Lane, drowned, the Lake County Coroner said today.

“It was a drowning death”, said Lake County Coroner Artis Yancey. “We
believe there was some natural cardiac event that caused the drowning.”

The Grayslake Fire Protection district was dispatched to the Carillon North Recreation Center, 2411 Carillon Drive, at 7:55 p.m. Sunday to treat a patient in full cardiac arrest, officials said He was transported to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville and pronounced dead at 9:02 p.m.

The recreation center is part of Carillon North, an adult community for people over 55.

believe there was some natural cardiac event that caused the drowning.”
