The Auxiliary Board of JPA to host “Fashion for a Cause” at Saks Fifth Avenue of Highland Park
FASHION SHOW AND SHOPPING EVENT TO BENEFIT JUVENILE PROTECTIVE ASSOCIATION~~JPA’s Auxiliary Board has planned a fashion show to benefit the Chicago advocacy and treatment agency, the event to be held at Saks Fifth Avenue in Highland Park on Thursday, March 1. The group has partnered with Saks and Zzazz Productions to draw supporters to a professional runway show featuring Saks’ spring line and the chance to purchase show specials and Saks merchandise while contributing to child welfare. Guests will enjoy refreshments and socializing, a fast-paced, polished fashion show and time to shop with Saks staff stationed throughout the store which will be closed to the public for the duration of the private event.
The hosts have maximized their use of social media to generate interest in the event. In doing so, they have minimized overhead in an effort to direct the majority of revenue raised to JPA. A portion of admissions plus 10% of all sales from the evening will go towards JPA, an organization best known for its treatment and counseling program. The goal of that program is to strengthen families by building stronger relationships between children and their parents in order that all family members function at their highest levels in caring for each other and contributing to society.
Founded in 1901 by social worker and political pioneer Jane Addams, Juvenile Protective Association is a private, non-profit agency that works with and on the behalf of children and families. Using highly trained professionals, JPA ensures the safety and emotional security of vulnerable children through therapeutic and supportive services; influences public policy through research and education; and brings hope to families.
The event is chaired by Auxiliary Board members Taylor Lindstrom and Debbie Van Solkema, both of Wilmette. Peggy Sandholm, Director of Special Events for Saks, said, “We are all very excited about this chance to work with the Auxiliary Board of JPA. We’re putting together a fabulous show which should be a fun evening for the guests and a successful fundraiser for this wonderful cause.”
Tickets to Fashion for a Cause may be purchased and contributions to JPA can be made at http://event.pingg.com/FashionForACause.
