Country Club Hills

AGGRAVATED FLEEING AND ELUDING: John Williams, 40, Chicago, was arrested and accused of aggravated fleeing and eluding, disobeying a traffic control device, driving without a valid license and illegally transporting alcohol Nov. 4 after leading officers on a 7-mile chase, police said. Williams dodged a traffic stop at 167th Street and Cicero Avenue for running a red light, traveling at “a high rate of speed” until Matteson officers assisted in his arrest at a gas station in the 21100 block of Governors Highway, police said. The vehicle Williams was driving contained open alcohol and was towed and impounded, police said.

SHOTS FIRED: Officers investigating multiple gunshots Nov. 4 near a department store in the 4000 block of 167th Place expanded their investigation to 167th Street and Pulaski Road/Crawford Avenue, locating an undisclosed crime scene at the BP Amoco gas station, 16655 Crawford Ave., Markham, police said. Country Club Hills officers notified Markham officers, who responded, police said.

Frankfort

GUN CONVICTION: Michael M. Watts, 34, 3300 block of Holden Circle, Matteson, was sentenced Nov. 6 to three years and 10 months in prison after pleading guilty to being a felon possessing a weapon, according to Will County court records online. The judge dismissed two other felony gun-related charges and credited the 685 days Watts spent in the Will County jail toward fulfilling the sentence, court records show. The original three-count felony charge stems from an August 2020 traffic stop for speeding, court records show.

Frankfort Square

BURGLARY CHARGED: Almarion Evans, 18, undisclosed address, Frankfort Township, was arraigned Nov. 9 on charges of burglary and criminally damaging property, according to Will County circuit court records online. Deputies took Evans into custody Oct. 21 while investigating a string of car break-ins on Frankfort Square Road, Graceland Lane, Juniper Court, Moorefield Drive and Sterling Drive, sheriff’s police said.

Frankfort Township

ROBBERY ARREST: A Chicago Heights man suspected of robbing the Speedway gas station, 7218 W. Lincoln Highway, at gunpoint on Sept. 10 was booked into the Will County jail Monday, according to sheriff’s records online. Alexander P. Garcia, 30, 1600 block of Oak Street, is charged with armed robbery and aggravated robbery, according to circuit court records online. Garcia, who also has a Park Forest address, took $138 after brandishing a silver handgun and demanding money, sheriff’s police said. Tinley Park police and the U.S. Marshals Service assisted in the investigation.

ARMED ROBBERY: Two men, one brandishing a handgun, ran off after taking “a small amount of cash” during a 1:40 a.m. Oct. 18 robbery at the Shell gas station/Circle K convenience store, 7654 W. Lincoln Highway, Will County sheriff’s police said. The two entered the store while the lone employee was cleaning a soft-drink dispenser at the rear and induced the employee to come to the front of the store, sheriff’s police said. The gunman then pushed the weapon into the employee’s chest while demanding access to the registers, sheriff’s police said.

Homer Glen

CAR BURGLARY: Three vehicles parked at Bengston’s Pumpkin Farm, 13341 151st St., were reported burglarized Oct. 22, with access made by breaking windows. Stolen items included three purses and two bags. Both bags were later recovered from the 13000 block of Bell Road, with personal items left in one bag, but the other bag emptied of its original contents: a magazine holding live 9 mm ammunition, a gun holster, a pair of handcuffs and a handcuff case.

Lockport

VIDEO CRIME: Brian F. Ericksen, 36, 16800 block of Magnolia Drive, Lockport, is scheduled to appear at a pretrial hearing Dec. 6, charged with two counts of unauthorized videotaping, according to Will County court records online. Ericksen video recorded another person without permission at a home on Aug. 17, police said. He was taken into custody Nov. 9 on a warrant, court records show.

Monee

COMMERCIAL THEFT: The cash box containing an undisclosed amount of currency was pried loose and stolen from a video gambling device at the Pilot Travel Center, Interstate 57 and Monee-Manhattan Road, at 11:20 p.m. Nov. 7. The theft was discovered later, when shifts changed. Monee detectives are investigating.

New Lenox

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: Ryan P. Castleberry, 35, 600 block of Pine Street, was arrested and accused of aggravated assault and criminal damaging to property Nov. 6 in the 300 block of Lincoln Highway, police said. Castleberry used a baseball bat to damage a JBD White Horse Inn patron’s car in the parking lot and then entered the business and threatened the patron while holding a hammer, police said.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: Dung M. Ha, 49, 2100 block of Viewside Drive, New Lenox, is scheduled to appear at a pretrial hearing Dec. 4 on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to Will County circuit court records online. The misdemeanor charge stems from Ha swinging a kitchen knife at another person Nov. 6 in that block, police said.

Orland Park

INDECENT EXPOSURE: A 36-year-old Round Lake man is scheduled to appear in Cook County court Dec. 18 on a charge of indecent exposure, according to police. Officers took Allen A. Faucett into custody Oct. 31 at the Hampton Inn, 16176 La Grange Road, on the complaint of a woman who said she encountered him in the dining area swaying side to side and exposing himself, police said. Faucett said nothing to her at the time and didn’t try to make contact, police said.

Steger

AGGRAVATED BATTERY: A Sauk Village man who spit on an officer during an October 2020 traffic stop was arraigned Nov. 6 on a felony charge of aggravated battery to a police officer in his first court appearance, according to police and Will County circuit court records online. Jonathan L. Tarcak, 27, 22400 block of Nichols Drive, is scheduled to return Dec. 20 for a pretrial hearing on the charge, along with charges of drunken driving and two counts of felony intimidation, court records show.

University Park

ILLEGAL GUN: William J. Phillips, 32, 2200 block of Loves Lane, Crete Township, is scheduled to be arraigned Dec. 14 on a charge of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, according to Will County circuit court records online. Deputies took Phillips into custody during an Oct. 20 traffic stop at Western and Norfolk avenues after finding a loaded handgun and determining he lacked state-issued firearm owner’s identification or a concealed — carry license according to sheriff’s and court records online.
