Pulte Homes has purchased land at The Glen and scheduled an April grand opening for a model home to showcase the development.

Construction is scheduled to begin in coming weeks to prepare for the opening of the first model home in the Regency at The Glen development, said Valerie Dolenga, spokeswoman for Schaumburg-based Pulte Homes.

The Glenview Village Board approved the 149-unit housing development in September after months of review.

The development is to be located on land previously designated for additional U.S. Navy housing near Shermer Road and West Lake Avenue

It would sit adjacent to the remaining military housing and contain 108 townhouses and 41 duplexes.

Dolenga said a housing development the size of Regency at The Glen could take one to three years to build. The completion date depends on how quickly units sell, she said.

Home sales have not yet begun, she added.

The Pulte development also would be located next to a 41.8-acre tract of land owned by the village of Glenview, which also had once been intended for Navy housing. No plans have been announced for the village’s land.
