Glenview police assisted in the recent arrest of several suspects in burglaries that may have stretched from Glenview and the Chicago area to Springfield, authorities said.
Louis Capuzi of Chicago, Brain David of Mazon, Ill., Richard Green of Chicago and Frank Obrochta of Melrose Park were arrested Jan. 27 on Chicago’s Northwest Side and each charged with two counts of burglary, according to Glenview police.
Glenview police worked with 14 other police departments to help arrest the suspects, who may be linked to burglaries in Glenview, Northbrook and Wilmette, Deputy Police Chief Phillip Perlini told the Glenview Village Board on Tuesday.
The suspects were seen committing burglaries in Addison and unincorporated DuPage County, Perlini said. Police then followed them to a home in Chicago, where authorities found stolen items, he said.
On Jan. 22, Glenview police assisted Springfield police in apprehending a burglary suspect in the state capitol, according to authorities.
A Glenview resident’s tip helped, Perlini said. The resident reported a suspicious vehicle that was linked to the suspects in the Springfield burglary.
“You can see how these people branch out,” Perlini said.
Jeffrey Levin of Wauconda was charged with burglary in connection with the Springfield incident, according to police. His girlfriend, Christie Partipilo of Wauconda also was arrested in connection with a burglary in Deer Park. Levin also was charged in connection with that incident.
Property from the Deer Park burglary was recovered in a pawnshop, according to police.
Sgt. David Sostak of the Glenview Police Department said authorities won’t know for certain whether any of the burglaries occurred in Glenview until police finish sorting evidence and victims claim their property.
