Despite some similarities, three recent home burglaries in Glenview don’t appear to be connected, a police spokesman said.
Three homes in three different areas of Glenview were burglarized Jan. 27, according to police reports. In each case, rooms were ransacked, and in two instances, jewelry was taken.
One occurred in the 3900 block of Gloria Court on the west side of Glenview, another occurred in the 2300 block of Lindenleaf Drive in central Glenview, and the third occurred in the 900 block of Golf View Road on the east side of town.
About $10,000 worth of jewelry was taken from one of the homes, and about $3,000 worth of jewelry was taken from another.
Sgt. David Sostak of the Glenview Police Department said that although the some details seemed similar — access was gained by forcing open a door or window, and jewelry was stolen — the incidents don’t appear to be linked.
“That doesn’t mean they aren’t,” he said.
Sostak added that the burglaries don’t seem to be connected with past incidents, either.
The number of home burglaries in Glenview in the past year appears to have trended downward, he said. Crime data were not immediately available.
