A Glenview man has been charged in connection with a July hit-and-run that sent a pedestrian to the hospital.
Sean McGuire, 24, was arrested at 6 a.m. Oct. 9 and charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failing to report injury, according to Glenview police.
A judge issued a $30,000 bond Oct. 10, and McGuire’s next court date was set for Oct. 26.
The charges stem from a July 22 crash near Country and Locust lanes. Two people walking north on Country Lane reported hearing a vehicle accelerating form behind, according to police.
When the pedestrians turned around, they saw a gray sport utility vehicle that appeared to swerve toward them, according to police.
The vehicle struck one of the pedestrians — a 54-year-old woman, who was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Lutheran General Hospital, according to police. The vehicle continued traveling north of Country Lane, police said.
Sgt. David Sostak of the Glenview Police Department said he did not know the extent of the woman’s injuries.
Sostak said McGuire was arrested after he he made an unsolicited appearance at the Glenview Police Station.
“The incident was still being investigated,” Sostak said. “What prompted him to come in at that date and time, I don’t know.”
