Village Board approves Grandpa’s Place plan

The Glenview Village Board has given the owners of Grandpa’s Place approval to move forward with the expansion of the popular downtown tavern.

The conditional use permit and final site plan will allow for the renovation of the historic building’s second floor, which the owners intend to use as a banquet room and the expansion of the first floor seating area.

The conditional use permit also requires the owners to enter into a shared parking agreement to use Metra spaces, as the size of the bar’s own parking area would be reduced with the expansion.

Because of the parking situation, the owners also would be prohibited from hosting banquets of more than 25 people before 4 p.m. on weekdays.
