Now that the new Glenview Public Library is open for business, it’s time for the old building to come down.

Demolition is underway, and a parking deck is scheduled to rise on the site by spring.

The old building was about half a century old when the library moved out in September.

The new library opened Oct. 9 with a day of festivities, kicking off a series of programs that wrapped up last weekend.

With about 85,000 square feet of space, the new facility is about two-thirds larger than the former 51,000-square foot building.
