Chicago teams hope hockey scores in Mexico

Ivan Toledano was 1,600 miles from home and alone on the ice Saturday inside the Fox Valley Ice Arena, a pre-teen sports pioneer in his native Mexico awaiting one of hockey’s most challenging shots during a trip to west suburban Chicago.

Crouched in front of the net, the young Mexican goaltender tensed as a single shooter from the Geneva-based Cyclones swept from center ice for a one-on-one penalty shot.
