Flexeon Rehabilitation in Frankfort welcomes to its staff Licensed Physical Therapist Lauren Mansell. Lauren earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Governors State University and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Sociology from Northwestern University.
Lauren specializes in women’s health issues including pelvic floor dysfunction, orthopedic dysfunction, back pain, osteoporosis, incontinence, prolapse, prenatal, postnatal, and pelvic pain disorders. Lauren treats the disorders of interstitial cystitis, vulvodynia, coccydynia, constipation, vaginal pain, painful intercourse, and sacro-iliac joint dysfunction.
Prior to attaining her doctorate, Lauren worked as a community mental health therapist, emergency room crisis counselor, and licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B). She believes in empowering her patients with information and support to improve their health. When patients are experiencing issues requiring women’s health physical therapy, she understands that a woman can feel as if she is not in control of her own body. Lauren strives to help women regain control through education, implementation, and collaboration. Lauren also incorporates her training as a certified Hatha yoga instructor to further benefit her patients’ experience at Flexeon Rehabilitation.
Lauren enjoys promoting environmentalism and medical work with her husband Geoffrey McDermott who works for the Village of Frankfort in the Streets Department. They served as medical volunteers in Guatemala for Hermano Pedro Hospital working with children with disabilities. In Nebraska, Colorado and Arizona, Lauren and Geoff worked for the National Parks Service and the National Geographic organization as medical ambassadors. This past October, they ran a medical tent of the Madrona campsite during the BioBlitz at Saguaro National Park in Tucson, Arizona providing medical attention and injury prevention education to high school participants, data collectors and scientists.
Flexeon Rehabilitation operates clinics throughout Illinois and Indiana, providing outpatient orthopedic physical and occupational therapy. This includes manual therapy, sports medicine, industrial medicine, spine rehabilitation, pain management, TMJ dysfunction, women’s wellness, functional capacity evaluations and hand therapy.
The Frankfort Clinic Director is Josh Feigl, PT, OCS, CSCS. A board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist with a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Evansville, Feigl’s clinical focus is on orthopedic and sports rehabilitation.
Flexeon Rehabilitation is the provider of physical therapy services for several suburban high schools and colleges.
