Riveredge Hospital Joins C4 to Make Strides for Mental Illness

Chicago, IL Riveredge Hospital and more than 20 of its staff members including CEO Carey Carlock recently joined the Community Counseling Centers of Chicago (C4) for its annual walk to help raise awareness of mental illness as well as funds to support mental health services and treatment programs.

C4 Miles: Making Strides for Mental Illness took place Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Montrose Harbor, Chicago. In addition to participating in the event, Riveredge Hospital provided support by making a donation to the organization.

At Riveredge, we are dedicated to improving the lives of individuals affected by mental illness and we are proud to partner with community organizations helping individuals get the support they deserve, said Carlock.

Currently, mental illness affects one in five Americans each year. In Illinois, more than 700,000 children, adolescents and adults suffer from mental health disorders.

In honor of May as Mental Health Awareness Month, Riveredge Hospital will host its 2nd Annual Wellness Fair on Friday, May 21, 2010 from 9AM-3PM. The Wellness Fair is designed to recognize community partners and offer them the opportunity to network, learn and share resources.
