Driver stopped with heroin, cocaine and marijuana

A 31-year-old Maywood man was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possessing cannabis after a Forest Park officer stopped a suspicious vehicle in the alley in the 7400 block of Harrison Street at 5:20 p.m. Jan. 17, police said.

The officer noted the driver appeared to be hiding something in his waistband as he was being pulled over. When the officer approached the car he also noticed a strong odor of burning marijuana.

The driver admitted he had smoked “weed” earlier. He also admitted to having two bags of marijuana in his pants. The officer recovered those two bags as well as a third bag that contained 20 bags of suspected heroin and nine small bags of crack cocaine.
