Lemont picked up its second blowout win in as many weeks with a 42-8 victory over Riverside-Brookfield on Friday night.
Senior quarterback Mike Medwed completed 9 of 10 passes for 105 yards to lead the Indians’ offense. Medwed threw touchdown passes on three of Lemont’s first four drives to put the Indians ahead early.
“I’ve been throwing passes to these guys since I was six years old, so we have really good timing,” Medwed said.
Lemont’s defense also had a big night, allowing only 25 yards rushing and nine yards through the air. The Indians have yet to surrender a touchdown to an opposing offense this season. They shut out Little Village 52-0 in their season opener.
“It’s good to know that (the defense) always has your back,” Medwed said. “They put us in great field position all night.”
