Evanston, Ill. (June 30, 2011) – The Evanston Public Library Friends will host its second annual Mother of All Book Sales, Friday, July 8th for an Early (book)Worm Sale and Saturday July 9th, and also Thursday – Saturday July 14th – 16th. The sale will be held at 3000 Central Street, in a space generously donated to the Friends for the event by Flader Plumbing and Heating. The booksale will feature a wide variety of titles, including adult and children’s selections, which have been donated to the Friends. Sale hours weekdays are 10AM – 2PM and Saturdays 10AM – 4PM.
“The sale will be slightly smaller in scale than last year’s sale, so we’re calling it ‘Lite’,” said EPLF Advisory Board member and Sale Coordinator, Mary Lou Smith, “We’ve got an incredibly broad range of choices, and some interesting selections for collectors as well.”
A majority of the books were donated to the Friends in conjunction with their operation of the newly-opened experimental space, The Mighty Twig, at 900 Chicago Avenue in Evanston. In addition to providing books for more than a dozen Evanston locations throughout the City, the Friends have also staffed and supplied this entirely volunteer-run library outpost.
Formed in March 2010, Evanston Public Library Friends is an independent, community-based organization dedicated to strengthening Evanston Public Library's innovation, leadership and neighborhood outreach. Proceeds from this event will help fund EPLF programs and expand neighborhood services to the community. For more information, visit www.eplfriends.org. Volunteers interested in sorting or working the sale are welcome to email info@eplfriends.org.
