“THANKS!” FROM HUNGER RESOURCE NETWORK
Hunger Resource Network http://hungerresourcenetwork.org is comprised of business partners, recipient agencies, and unpaid volunteers/volunteers groups that work together to aid those in need. The goal of HRN is to supplement food banks, shelters, food pantries, and soup kitchens through our network of business partners and volunteers, and with the assistance of The Evanston Whole Foods stores, North and South, we did just that. WF North and South partnered with Hunger Resource Network during the holidays in the Whole Foods’ “Bag Hunger” Project and thanks to the generosity of their customers and employees, $22,000 was raised! This money was used to purchase over 10 tons of food which was delivered on 16 pallets on Saturday, January 22nd. The pallets were broken down, re-sorted according to agency needs, loaded into trucks and cars and delivered back into the Evanston community that same day. Benefiting organizations include Hillside Food Pantry, A Just Harvest, Salvation Army, Connections for the Homeless, First Presbyterian Church and New Life Shelter. Our thanks to Whole Foods, their Community Marketing Specialists, Carieann Sommers at WF North and Bridget Isaia at WF South and especially to their wonderfully thoughtful customers and employees. Together, we made a difference!
