News from Hunger Resource Network

Good news from Hunger Resource Network, a non-profit based in Northbrook, IL! The mission of HRN is to help establish "a non-denominational network dedicated to the alleviation of hunger by linking together businesses, food providers, soup kitchens, houses of worship, shelters, pantries and volunteers". To this end, they have partnered with two Evanston stores this holiday season to help stock the shelves at local food pantries and soup kitchens.

Whole Foods North (1640 Chicago Ave., Evanston) and Whole Foods South (1111 Chicago Ave., Evanston) will be accepting donations from now through December 31st in their Bag Hunger promotion. Customers may purchase gift tags in the amount of $5, $10 or $20. Whole Foods will use the money collected at these two stores to purchase food at wholesale prices which will then distributed through Hunger Resource Network. It's a great way to stretch your donation dollars! To learn more about the work of Hunger Resource Network, go to hungerresourcenetwork.org.
