N. Shore Choral Society previewed Nov. 22 Handel’s Messiah to 3rd, 4th and 5th graders

N. Shore Choral Society's 60 member ensemble, as part of The Musical Offering of Evanston, introduced Oakton Elementary School students to the music and history of Handel.

 
As part of the outreach program of North Shore Choral Society (NSCS), Evanston Oakton Elementary School grades 3-5 had the chance to learn about and listen to excerpts from George Frideric Handel’s Messiah.

Sixty of the 150 NSCS members and bass soloist Bejamin LeClair performed three 20-minute programs under the direction of Dr. Julia Davids with piano accompanist Sharon Peterson.

North Shore Choral Society (NSCS) performed Handel’s Messiah, Sunday, November 22, 2009, 3 PM at The Parish Church of Saint Luke, 939 Hinman Avenue, Evanston.

Conducting the NSCS and orchestra was Dr. Julia Davids, Music Director. Soloists in addition to Benjamin LeClair, bass, were Kimberly E. Jones, soprano; Orna Arania, mezzo-soprano; and Sean Clark, tenor.
