Driving under the influence

Santos Barraza Prieto, 42, of the 4400 block of Gunnison Avenue, Chicago, was arrested July 25 for driving under the influence of alcohol at the intersection of Parkside Avenue and Lake Street, police said. A court date is set for Aug. 7.

Criminal damage

A complainant stated July 17 that someone had spray painted graffiti on the concrete under a pavilion on the 9200 block of Oriole Avenue, police said.

Burglary

A complainant stated July 19 that an unknown male subject in a ski mask was sitting in the front passenger seat of his black 2014 Acura MDX while he was pumping gas on the 7700 block of Dempster Street, exited his vehicle and got in a white sedan driven by another unknown subject, police said. Nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle, police said.

A complainant stated July 24 that she found the door to her residence on the 8500 block of Marmora Avenue closed after she had left it opened, and that several rooms in the home had been rummaged through with three watches and a .22 caliber pistol missing, police said.

Identity theft

A complainant residing on the 8900 block of National Avenue stated July 25 that an unknown subject had used an account in her name to buy $1,316.99 worth of goods at three different Home Depot stores over the course of the month, police said.

Theft

A complainant stated July 22 he saw a black sedan pull up alongside his black 2001 Land Rover Discovery parked on the 8900 block of Marmora Avenue, saw an unknown male subject wearing all black holding something in his hands and later found that his catalytic converter had been removed, police said.
