Police are investigating the apparent homicide of a woman whose body was found Wednesday morning along a Lake County roadside, the sheriff’s office said.
Lake County sheriff’s officers said the woman was discovered at about 7 a.m. along Hunt Club Road, south of the Illinois Route 173 intersection in the northern part of the county.
Her body was found on the shoulder on the east side of Hunt Club Road. Based on preliminary investigation, police said it appears the woman was a homicide victim, and her body was dumped along the road.
The cause and manner of death were not readily apparent, and an autopsy is being scheduled, police said. The identity of the woman has not been released.
The sheriff’s office said additional information would be released as it becomes available.
