A Tinley Park man charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of an Oak Forest woman was ordered held without bond during an initial court appearance Monday, according to police.

Chad Oster, 36, of the 18200 block of Glen Swilly Circle, was taken into custody Saturday after police and SWAT forces worked to serve a search warrant at his home, leading to a multiple hour standoff.

His arrest came after Oak Forest police said they were responding to a domestic disturbance Friday night when they found 30-year-old Lauren Pikor in the road near her home in the 5300 block of Diamond Drive, a short distance from Oak Forest High School.

She suffered cuts and stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 11 p.m. Friday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Court records show that in late May of this year, Oster pleaded guilty to a charge of domestic battery stemming from a March 2021 in Diamond’s Oak Forest home.

Oster had, with his fist, struck Pikor, identified as his girlfriend, in the throat, then took her phone and locked her in a room to prevent her from calling police, according to Cook County Circuit Court records.

Pikor had secured an order of protection against Oster in March 2021, but that order was dismissed around the time of Oster’s plea, records show. He was sentenced to two years’ probation, according to court papers.

Court records also show Pikor is the mother of an 8-year-old girl, and that the child’s biological father filed a petition in circuit court in August 2021 alleging that Oster “has a history of violence and abuse” of Pikor. It cites the March 7, 2021, argument in which Pikor was punched in the throat and alleges that some of the abuse occurred in the girl’s presence.

The child’s father, in the petition seeking to establish a child-parent relationship with his daughter, noted a child support and visitation agreement he and Pikor had agreed to in January 2021, which allowed him regular visits with the child and his paying $200 monthly for child support.

The girl’s father, in the petition, said he had contacted Pikor after learning about the March 2021 argument and told Pikor he didn’t approve of Oster having any contact with the child.

It is the second recent south suburban homicide involving an expired or unserved order of protection.

Last month, a 21-year-old Chicago woman, Jailene Flores, was shot to death at a Mariano’s grocery store in Evergreen Park, and she had also reported being the victim of domestic violence, according to court records.

Armoni Henry, also of Chicago, is being held without bond in connection with the July 13 shooting, and court records show Flores had been granted a restraining order against him by the court but that two attempts to serve him with it were unsuccessful.

Flores filed for a restraining order against Henry, according to prosecutors, stating the two had “a dating relationship” but referencing threats Henry made against her and her family, according to prosecutors.
