Crete

12-MILE CHASE: A Dixmoor woman wanted on a fugitive from justice warrant led officers on a 9-mile chase through University Park and Richton Park Nov. 20 and then merged onto Interstate 57 for 3 more miles before her car quit running, police said. Brianna L. Hill, 22, 14200 block of Marshfield Avenue, was taken into custody a few yards north of Vollmer Road on a Rockford police warrant for vehicular hijacking, aggravated battery and theft in May, police said. The chase originated in Crete at 9:05 p.m. when an officer attempted to stop the vehicle Hill was driving because the registration plate was improperly attached to the car, police said.

Evergreen Park

IMPERSONATION: Michael R. Patzin, 41, Berwyn, was arrested and accused of false personation during a Nov. 24 retail theft investigation at Walmart, 2500 95th St., after flashing a fake badge to store employees and identifying himself as an officer, police said.

Frankfort

FORGERY ALLEGED: Juan M. Casillas Jr., 22, Joliet, and Randall D. Smith, 34, Summit, were charged with forgery in connection with a Nov. 2 investigation at Old Second National Bank, 20201 La Grange Road, according to police and Will County circuit court records online. Casillas, a passenger in a car driven by Smith, was arrested after he tried to cash a stolen $930 check at the bank, police said. Officers then searched the vehicle, found a $450 check written to Smith, confirmed it was also stolen and took him into custody, police said. Casillas and Smith are scheduled to appear at a Dec. 11 preliminary hearing on the charge, court records show.

Frankfort Township

ILLEGAL GUN: Tyree M. Clay, Lansing, was arrested Sunday night after a Will County deputy found a loaded 9 mm Glock semi-automatic handgun equipped with a switch to turn it into a rapid-fire machine gun during a routine traffic stop, sheriff’s police said. The deputy initially stopped Clay, 19, 2400 block of 186th Place, at 7:15 p.m. in the 8200 block of West Lincoln Highway, for driving without a front and no rear registration light and for heavily tinted windows, sheriff’s police said. The deputy subsequently determined the pistol had been stolen out of Gary, Indiana, police said. Clay is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a stolen firearm, according to Will County circuit court records online.

Monee

DUI CRASH: Steven P. March, 52, 6500 block of Pine Trail Lane, Tinley Park, was arrested and accused of drunken driving and driving without insurance Nov. 20 after crashing into metal fencing in the 5700 block of Monee-Manhattan Road, police said.

New Lenox

DUI CRASH: Jonathan R. Bembenek, 24, 18000 block of Haley Road, Mokena, was arrested and accused of driving under the influence and unlawfully possessing cannabis in a motor vehicle Nov. 23 after he crashed into a utility pole near the intersection of U.S. Route 6 and Cedar Road.

FALLING OBJECT: A motorist driving on Lincoln Highway on Saturday afternoon reported seeing three individuals walk away from the Metra Rock Island railroad bridge, between Cooper and Prairie roads, after an undisclosed falling object hit and dented the motorist’s car roof.
