A motorist struck a bicyclist with his car near the South Boulevard CTA station on April 29.

Chicago resident Brian Iwanicki, 32, said he was riding his bicycle home from his parents’ home in Glencoe when he was struck by a vehicle turning west on South Boulevard from Chicago Avenue.

“He shoved me off my bike and onto the ground,” Iwanicki said. “I had the light. I was in the road when it happened.”

Iwanicki suffered road rash to his knees and left elbow, as well as swelling to his knuckles. He said paramedics treated him on the scene.

The unidentified motorist declined to comment on the incident, saying he was “shaken up” by it. A police officer on the scene issued the motorist a ticket for improper right turn.
