Elmhurst Park District Recognized for Environmental Efforts

ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst Park District recently submitted a report on its green initiatives to Clean Air Counts, a public/private initiative to improve air quality in the Chicago area. Clean Air Counts found that the Park District has reduced smog forming emissions by over 2,861 pounds through expanded native landscaping at Berens Park and Eldridge Park, switching to B-20 biodiesel fuel, and incorporating low-VOC cleaning supplies and paints. For more information on the Elmhurst Park District’s green initiatives, please visit www.epd.org/green/index.asp.

The Elmhurst Park District is an Illinois Distinguished Agency dedicated to promoting “lifetime enjoyment” by providing a variety of parks, recreation facilities, and affordable programs in the Elmhurst community.
