Man receives bill for brother’s hospital stay, paint splashed on garage, and more

The following items were taken from Elmhurst Police Department reports:

Identity theft

An Elmhurst man reported Feb. 17 that his brother had used his name to enter Elmhurst Hospital. The man said he had received $4,500 in hospital bills that do not belong to him.

Damage to property

Mint green paint was splashed on the garage door of a house in the 100 block of Glenview street Feb. 17. The damage is estimated at $500.

A car parked in the 200 block of West First Avenue was keyed Feb. 17. The damage is estimated at $2,000.

Possession of cannabis

A 39-year-old Villa Park man was charged Feb. 18 with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, having no insurance and expired registration during a traffic stop at Roosevelt and York roads.

Possession of a controlled substance

A 50-year-old Elmhurst man was charged with drunken driving, possession of a controlled substance, illegal transportation of alcohol and failure to signal during a traffic stop at Grand Avenue and the Eisenhower Expressway Feb. 19. The man had .2 grams of crack cocaine in a bag. A passenger in the car, a 39-year-old Maywood woman, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
