The following items were taken from Elmhurst Police Department reports:
Possession of cannabis
A 40-year-old man from the 1000 block of south Westmore Avenue, Lombard, was charged Feb. 7 with possession of cannabis during a traffic stop at Roosevelt Road and Villa Avenue. He also was charged with driving with a suspended license and having an obstructed view. Police found .6 grams of marijuana in his car.
Attempted residential burglary
A resident heard someone knocking on the door of her house in the 100 block of Myrtle Avenue at about 3 p.m. Feb. 7. The knocking was followed by the person repeatedly ringing the doorbell. As the resident went to answer the door she heard glass breaking and saw an arm entering the house. The person trying to enter the house fled west bound on foot on Myrtle avenue.
A resident of the 700 block of Fairfield Avenue reported there were pry marks on the doorknob of his house Feb. 7. The damage was estimated at $100.
