Someone makes off with snow plow blade, and more

The following items were taken from Elmhurst Police Department reports Dec. 7:

Theft

Someone stole snow plow blade from a business in the 400 block of Wrightwood Avenue. The blade is valued at $1,000. The theft occurred sometime between Friday and Sunday.

Someone reportedly stole six books of scratch off lottery tickets last week from a tavern in the 500 block of West Lake Street. The victim told police he put the tickets in the safe and they were later missing from the safe.

Damage to property

A salesman at a car dealer in the 300 block of West Grand Avenue gave keys to an ’07 Dodge Ram Saturday, and the vehicle was crashed into an unknown object and returned to the dealer. The victim said the driver did not provide any identification.

Someone threw a rock the size of a baseball through a window of a house in the 0-100 block of Maple Street Saturday. The damage was estimated at $300.

Identity theft

An Elmhurst woman reported that someone made withdrawals from her checking account in the amount of $514. Transactions were made online to companies in Europe.

Burglary to a motor vehicle

Someone reportedly stole drills, a pouch with hand tools and voltage meters from a vehicle parked Friday in the 400 block of Wrightwood Avenue. The items were valued at $1,500.

Drunken driving

A 23-year-old Norridge woman was charged with drunken driving at Walnut and Fremont Streets Friday. Police saw her car parked the wrong way at the curb with the front end in the street. The woman would not roll down her window, and drove away without her headlights on, disobeyed a stop sign and continued to drive on the wrong side of the street.
