Orland Park police say a spurned lover who beat a married woman when she broke off an extramarital affair has been charged with misdemeanor domestic battery.

Police took the 54-year-old Elmhurst man into custody around 10:15 p.m. Aug. 16 as he was driving on the 9000 block of LaGrange Road away from the Essence Suites, 14455 LaGrange Road.

The man allegedly admitted he hit the woman at the hotel, but blamed her husband for some of the bruises.

A police officer responding to the 10:03 p.m. disturbance call at the hotel found the victim bleeding from her nose and mouth. He said her left eye was swollen, discolored and partly closed.

She told police her former lover had hit her in the face several times after she told him she and her husband weren’t interested in seeing him again.
