Elk Grove High School's Speech Team competed at the IHSA Sectional Tournament at Downers Grove South High School on Feb. 11 in a field of 29 schools.
The following EGHS students competed at the sectional meet: Katherine Hoth in Poetry Reading, Marissa Cozzi in Humorous Interpretation, Mary Lynn Riopel in Extemporaneous Speaking, Christina Erbacci and Allen Fearing in Humorous Duet Acting, Brent Wolff in Informative Speaking, and Katie Kozak in Dramatic Interpretation.
Grace Allen and Dustin Beelow advanced to the final round of the sectional competition and placed 6th in Dramatic Duet Acting.
The competitors in Elk Grove’s entry in Performance in the Round were: Abbie Gail Lim, Amanda Geier, Arman Rahman, Jay Baccay, Kelli Steinbuck, Maeve Garvin, Natalie Brown, Sarah Hartness, Stephanie Medina, and Zoe Tingas. They placed 9th overall.
