The Habitat for Humanity Women Build project was recently completed after more than a year of construction.

Besides giving Pilar Garcia, of Elgin, and her two children a home of their own, the project also taught the mostly-women volunteer force new skills, according to project organizers.

The project also offered indoor and outdoor renovations to the house at 355 Moseley St., which was long vacant and an eyesore for the neighborhood.
