Teens go hungry
A group of Elgin teens from Zion Lutheran and Holy Trinity churches participated in last week’s nationwide fasting event to promote awareness and raise funds to fight hunger around the world.
During World Vision’s 30-hour Famine, the teens consumed only liquids to experience what it feels like to go hungry. On Feb. 24 and 25, the Elgin teens fasted at a lock-in at Zion Lutheran Church. They also painted hallways and a community room at El Hogar del Nino in Chicago as a community service project.
