Township appoints committee on youth members

At the Tuesday, May 17 meeting, the Hanover Township Board voted unanimously to appoint six youth and adults to the Township’s Committee on Youth. All six members come from diverse backgrounds and bring different perspectives to the group.

“The committee serves an important function in the Township and we were happy to see so much interest in those applying,” said Hanover Township Supervisor Brian P. McGuire. “The new members are a welcome addition to a very active group of volunteers.”

Youth members appointed to the committee are Jacqueline Segovia, student at Streamwood High School; Sarah Berk, student at Streamwood High School; and Matt Karinski, student at Elgin High School. Adult members appointed to the committee are Ed Burnham, former youth member; John Gallione, music teacher; and Tom Alagna, Bartlett Police Officer.

The committee advises the Township Board on the provision of programs and services to combat and prevent juvenile delinquency in Hanover Township. The committee meets monthly at the Township and meetings are open to the public.
