Man inputs cheaper price at self check for three cases of Red Bull, and more

The following were taken from Elgin Police reports on Feb. 22.

Theft

  • A 40-year-old Elgin man was arrested at 5:34 p.m. Feb. 21 at Meijer, 15 S. Randall Road, and charged with misdemeanor retail theft after he purchased three cases of Red Bull at the self check, using the wrong price code – saving himself $39.

Burglary

  • A car radio faceplate was stolen between 10 p.m. Feb. 19 and 7:30 a.m. Feb. 20 while it was parked in a driveway in the 900 block of Prospect Street. The seats were also slashed. Another unlocked car parked in the driveway had the seats slashed, but nothing was missing.
  • A USB plug was stolen sometime before Feb. 20 from a business in the 1500 block of Todd Farm Drive.

Property damage

  • A BB was shot through a window between 5 p.m. Feb. 20 and 9 a.m. Feb. 21 at a home in the 600 block of Holly Street.
  • A window was broken between noon and 5:14 p.m. Feb. 20 on a vacant home in the 600 block of Cooper Avenue.
  • A car was keyed between 12:25 and 1:30 p.m. Feb. 20 while it was parked in a garage in the 0-100 block of Symphony Way.

Trespassing

  • A 59-year-old Mount Prospect woman was arrested at 12:15 p.m. Feb. 20 at Grand Victoria Casino, 250 S. Grove Ave., and charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass to property after she arrived at the casino despite being on the self ban list.
