An Elgin Community College administrator is one of 10 recipients of an award from the National Resource Center for The First-Year Experience and Students in Transition.
Amybeth Maurer, director of first year programs and student life, will be honored for her efforts. The South Carolina-based center annually recognizes educators who enhance the first year college experience for students.
Maurer, of Algonquin, will receive the award today during a ceremony in San Antonio. She was chosen among 140 educators.
“I feel honored to represent ECC in this way, but it’s not just me,” Maurer said in a statement. “I have a talented staff that helps make ECC a great experience for our students.”
