Two men face burglary charges after police say they stole a refrigerator from a vacant home in Elgin.
Tony A. Bell, 46, of the 900 block of Bode Road in Elgin, and Natale S. Saraceno, 43, of the 1400 block of Grandview Drive in Algonquin, each face a single count of felony burglary.
Just after 6:30 p.m. Jan. 27, Elgin police allegedly saw Bell and Saraceno enter a vacant home for sale in the 1700 block of LinLor Lane. After the men went in through a back door, they allegedly removed a refrigerator and loaded it onto a truck, police said.
Officers then arrested them.
Bail was set at $15,000 for Bell and $5,000 for Saraceno. Both remain in Kane County jail.
Elgin police reminded residents to watch out for homes for sale or in foreclosure that are vacant as they are prime targets for burglaries.
