With their Cross Country inaugural year behind them, St. Joseph School's long distance runners and their coaches are celebrating big. Developing this program for the school, head coaches Jeff Gentile and Tom Kelly were pleasantly surprised at year-end results for their young team.

"Our inaugural Cross Country season brought great accomplishments, both individually and as a team," said Kelly.

St. Joseph's 8th grade girls placed 1st as Division A Champions, and placed 7th overall with 25 teams participating.

Their 6th grade boys placed 1st as Division A Champions, and placed 5th overall.

Their Boys team took third place overall, while their 6th grade girls placed 4th in Division A.

Both Gentile and Kelly look forward to next year. “We couldn’t be prouder of our runners who worked hard, achieved personal best records and built stamina. It's a win-win for them," said Gentile.

Next step for Gentile is to create a Runners Club at St. Joseph, involving both parents and students. “It’s good all around both as a family activity and building endurance,” he added.
