It's a Science Explosion!

With the help of their teachers and visiting geologist, Steve Padovani, second graders at St. Joseph School recently learned the power behind volcanic explosions. Padovani brought that power alive on Monday, November 8th through visual demonstrations and discussion with these onlooking second graders.

While students listened attentively to Padovani's descriptions and explanations of volcanoes and the power behind them, he unleashed a cork from a bottle surprising his onlookers who found themselves begging for more! He definitely had their attention as he brought them from maps to powerpoint slides to visual presentations.

After his presentation, Padovani offered to answer questions for his onlookers. These inquisitive second graders brought many questions, some that even stumped an impressed Padovani, who agreed he would be sure to get those answers back to his very observant audience.

Second grade teacher, Kate Rozylowicz was excited to have Padovani in her classroom. "Our students were fascinated with Mr. Padovani's demonstrations. Just as he demonstrated absorption with water and sand, our students absorbed his every word. We are so thankful!"
