Seniors with Slates
At The Heritage of Des Plaines, a senior living facility, more than a dozen residents take weekly classes to learn more about the Internet and keeping in touch with their families using HP Slates. The digital devices — small, light tablet computers that come equipped with a camera — are a recent donation from Hewlett-Packard. Under the center's Connected Living program, seniors are learning how to take photos and order their digital shots from Walgreens, purchase items from Amazon.com and Skype with relatives on the Slates.
