Twenty two oil sketches on paper and canvas by Samantha Haring, a member of the Des Plaines Art Guild and a fourth year student at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago, are on view during the month of September at the Des Plaines Public Library. The painting are part of a sixty piece series completed during a six week study at the International School for Painting, Drawing, and Sculpture in Montecastello Di Vibio, in Italy. The paintings represent a capture of the ever changing light and a study of value and temperature. Each sketch took between twenty minutes and two hours.
